What excites me most about my field today is to see new patients who are using their health coverage for the first time there to make sure that their first visit is a pleasant visit and this new health care system is delivering the best care. My biggest challenges are convincing my patients to adhere to a good diet and exercise program 2-3 times per week. With this regime, they can improve their physical and mental well being.

In 1980 when working at Loma Linda Hospital I had the opportunity to apply for an Anesthesia Technician. And it was then that I decided that this is something that I would like to do for the rest of my life.

What excites me about being a doctor is knowing that I can make a difference in my patients life and their health. I became interested in becoming a doctor while doing research in college at a VA Hospital. I was Inspired by the VA physicians that were taking care of the people who served our country. If I wasn’t a doctor,d like to be an astronaut or computer programmer. I am also interested in scuba diving, race cars, and being a pilot. Aside from being a doctor, I am a restaurant owner. Blue is my favorite color, its passionate and is the color of my eyes. My message to patients is, “eat well, love life, enjoy yourself!”

I believe patients can empower themselves through effective knowledge of their health and understanding clearly the steps to take control. I incorporate fitness, and preventive health, into my practice by educating my patients regarding chronic diseases. A change in lifestyles always works! What I learn from my patients is the melody of life and the changes in life teach us patience.
